On How to Favour Democracy Through Cultural Magazines

Introduction
The workshop On how to favour Democracy Through Cultural magazines was a bilateral
project, developed, planned and conducted in cooperation by representatives from
Medieverkstäderna i Göteborg, Sweden, and the School for Journalism at Mohyla University
in Kyiv, Ukraine. Our goal was to strive to promote a democratic debate in Ukraine through
cultural magazine production.
Participants was first year students, second year students (attended during the first day) and
staff from School for Journalism from Ukrainian side and representatives from
Medieverkstäderna, Sweden. Main focus in the workshop was on Swedish context and the
lectures were preformed by Sophie Engström and Carl Forsberg.
The project was financed by Medieverkstädernas International Funding and Swedish
Institute.
